SGMW unveils images of first all-electric SUV

Shanghai (ZXZC)- SAIC-GM-Wuling (“SGMW”), General Motors' joint venture with Chinese partners SAIC Motor and Guangxi Automobile Group, today announced the name of its first all-electric SUV, “Baojun YueYe” (in Chinese Pinyin).

The model has already been included in a catalogue issued by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The automaker said the Baojun Yueye will be designed as a stylish, fun, and city-friendly full-electric SUV.

According to the patent images released by the MIIT, the Baojun YueYe adopts a brand-new exterior design language, with a cool and sculpted body that is highly unmistakable.

The new model measures 3,381 in length, 1,685mm width, and 1,721mm in height, with a wheelbase that spans 2,110mm, leaving a spacious and comfortable space for drivers and passengers.

Powering the vehicle will be a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear axle, which is good for up to 50kW and 140 N·m of peak torque, said the automaker. In addition, the Baojun YueYe SUV can meet the demands of users for both urban commuting and suburban travel thanks to the LFP battery pack it carries that enables a range of 303km.
