Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Aug. 29, the Cadillac XT4 crossover was officially launched in Shanghai, ahead of US-market launching to be due in this autumn. The model offers 7 variants and is available for preorder now with a starting price of RMB 259,700 while Cadillac website says it will cost $34,795 in the US market.

Built on Cadillac’s luxury SUV platform, the Cadillac XT4 is powered by a new powertrain combination consisting of an all-new turbo-charged 2.0L four-cylinder engine paired with a new 9-speed automatic transmission. The model is equipped with dual-clutch real-time AWD system and offers four driving mode options as well as a range of advanced power technologies, such as E-boost system, new generation ETRS.

As the fifth model under Cadillac in China, the XT4 is built at GM’s Jinqiao assembly plant. The model’s design was led by a group of youthful designers, who have unique understanding on younger customers’ characteristics. Wang Yongqing, General Manager of SAIC-GM, said at the launching ceremony that as one of the most important products under the company’s global SUV strategy, the Cadillac XT4 will ignite passions from more young consumers.

With the system upgrading in internet of vehicles (IoV), the Cadillac XT4 is the first model which embodies full implementation of innovative cloud IoV service and enjoys 24G of free data traffic every year. Its infotainment system is capable of updating over the air.

Its all-new on-board APP will bring rich functions and service and the intelligent notification service will offer customized service. Other features include rotary controller, available head-up display, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, hands-free liftgate.
