BYD Song refreshed plug-in EV model enjoys bigger size, less fuel consumption

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese automaker BYD has recently released a series of photos of its refreshed BYD Song plug-in EV model. According to local media, the existing model of BYD Song has three versions, including the gasoline, the plug-in and the battery electric versions.

The refreshed BYD Song plug-in EV model measures 4,600mm in length, 1,870mm in width and 1,700mm in height, 35mm longer than that of the existing model, while the same as the existing model in wheelbase length.

The refreshed model is expected to carry a 1.5L turbocharged engine, along with a motor at the front and rear respectively, and an all-wheel-drive system. With a combined fuel consumption of 1.4L per 100km (0.2L less than that of the existing model), the 1.5L turbocharged engine, possibly paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, is predicted to output a maximum power of 133kW.

Featuring the iconic design of “Dragon Face” at the front end, the refreshed model adopts several new designs over the existing model, such as larger-sized intake grille, matrix-type LED headlights and chrome trims embedded with a logo of Chinese character “Song”.

Compared to the existing model, the refreshed BYD Song plug-in model boasts a neater look at the rear end that features a bigger silver shield at the bottom, the chrome trims pulling through the entire taillight cluster and hidden exhaust outlets.

The new model provides a number of alternative user-friendly facilities to meet diverse customers’ demands, such as panoramic sunroof, 8 types of hub, roof rack as well as 4 colors of outside rear-view mirror shell.
