BAIC BJEV only builds 318 vehicles in June
Beijing (ZXZC)- Both sales and production of BAIC BJEV, a subsidiary of BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology Co.,Ltd, slumped in June and the first half of this year, the company said in its monthly sales report.

Last month, the automaker produced only 318 new energy vehicles (NEVs), 77.43% less than the production volume of June, 2020 while its cumulative production of the first six months tumbled from 8,453 vehicles of the same period of last year to 2,157 vehicles.
Sales were almost halved in June and more than halved for the first half of this year. Its monthly sales decreased 47.3% year on year to 1,585 vehicles while the total sales of the past six months declined 52.66% to 6,959 vehicles.
China sold 230,000 NEVs in June with a year-on-year surge of 177.7%, according to the China Passenger Car Association. In the first half of this year, the largest market’s total NEV sales jumped 220.9% from a year ago to over 1 million vehicles.
Apart from BEIJING brand, BAIC BJEV also owns ARCFOX marque. Currently, the premium brand has two models for sale. And the ARCFOX αS HI, jointly developed with Huawei, is going through validation and production preparation before sales start, the company revealed.
Last month, ARCFOX and Baidu jointly unveiled the latest generation of ride-sharing autonomous vehicle, the Apollo Moon, which is built on the ARCFOX αT and equipped with Baidu’s ride-sharing autonomous technologies.
The brand also plans to increase its stores to 100 in 2021 and its annual sales are expected to reach 12,000 vehicles.
