Shanghai (ZXZC)- NIO will delay the delivery of some vehicles, which are supposed to be handed over to consumers in October, as its vehicle production was affected this month by the modification works at the JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Center in Hefei, according to a notification NIO released on Oct. 29.

NIO announced on Oct. 15 the phased upgrade for the production lines at the Hefei manufacturing base had been completed, paving the way for future introduction of new vehicle models and capacity expansion.

According to NIO's recent notification, operations of some assembly lines need to be halted amid the factory retooling, thus the car production in October was disrupted. For this reason, some new cars, which should be received by buyers this month, are being withheld from delivery.

The company apologized for the delay and said it will offer additional App credits as the compensation to the users who were affected.

The rennovations didn't affect the outputs of the ET7s, the company said.

The production line has gradually resumed operation in the last 10 days of October. The company added it will deliver vehicles as soon as possible.
