Numerous positions are marked as urgent. The said factory manager and senior manager will work in Shunyi District of Beijing, indicating the automaker’s second factory will probably be located in the district.
The posting of factory manager says that the manager is supposed to be responsible for the planning, construction preparation, management of production operation, building of factory production system as well as fulfilment of core factory team’s goals and team building.
These job postings are much clearer signals for the location of Li Auto’s second factory. At the beginning of April, a local media report said that the EV maker is planning to build its second plant, which may be positioned in Beijing. Several days later, the company also registered a new company in Beijing with businesses covering manufacturing intelligent new energy vehicles.
At the end of May, a document showed that Li Auto will take over Beijing Hyundai’s First Plant in Beijing and invest 6 billion yuan ($930.6 million) to build a global flagship factory, which is set to start production in 2023 with an expected industrial output of 30 billion yuan ($4.653 billion) in 2024.
Li Auto has a plant in Changzhou, whose production was affected by chip shortage. On an earnings call in mid-May, Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of Li Auto, daily production of its Changzhou factory were less than 500 units. But its monthly production will jump to 10,000 vehicles in September this year. With a newly added facility in its Changzhou plant, the automaker’s annual vehicle production may be improved to 200,000 vehicles.
