Mazda reports record China sales in first four months

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Mazda delivered a new high of 102,022 vehicles in the first four months in China, jumping 16.9% from a year earlier. Meanwhile, the automaker boasted a year-on-year sales growth of 7.6% in April with 24,572 units delivered in this country, according to Mazda Motor (China) Co., Ltd.

FAW-Mazda’s cumulative sales so far this year climbed 4.5% year on year to 41,449 units, while its monthly sales in April reached 9,808 units, edging up 2.9% over the previous year.

Changan Mazda saw an impressive growth of 27.2% with 60,573 vehicles handed over from January to April. Last month, the automaker delivered 14,764 vehicles, increasing 11.0% compared with the same period of 2017.

At Auto China 2018, the Japanese automaker announced that Changan Mazda will manufacture and sell the all-new mid-to-large 3-row 7-seat SUV model the CX-8 in the second half of this year. In addition, the MX-5 RF, whose presale was initiated by FAW-Mazda at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in November last year, will be officially handed over soon.
