GAC Group sales edged down 3.2% YoY in April

Shanghai (ZXZC)- GAC Group delivered a total of 672,747 vehicles in the first four months, up 7.3% year on year, while its April sales edged down 3.2% over the previous year to 164,315 units, according to the data released by the Group.

GAC Motor boasted a year-on-year sales growth of 4.26% with 43,481 units delivered last month. Meanwhile, its cumulative sales so far this year totaled 192,801 units, jumping 18.01% from a year ago and accomplishing 27.54% of its annual sales target 700,000 units. Some “star models” like the GS4, the GS8, the GA8 and the GA4 contributed a lot to the automaker's sales growth.

As to joint ventures, GAC Honda handed over 52,628 units last month, dropping 12.54% from the previous year. For the first four months, the company achieved a year-on-year sales growth of 8.14% to 221,092 units, completing 29.48% of its sales target. The orders of the all-new Accord exceeded 7,500 units within two weeks. In spite of the effect by the all-new Accord, the deliveries of the existing Accord still reached 7,760 units in the past month. In addition, the sales of the large-sized SUV AVANCIER reached 5,768 units after some 100,000 units being sold in the first quarter.

GAC Toyota saw a year-on-year sales jump of 22.45% with 43,140 vehicles handed over in April and its year-to-date deliveries grew 5.01% year on year to 154,298 units, finishing 30.86% of the sales target 500,000 units. Specifically, 10,771 units and 43,304 units of the eighth-generation Camry were delivered in April and in the first four months, surging 32.1% and 24.5% year on year respectively. The all-new Highlander saw a year-on-year increase of 7.6% last month to 9,360 units. Besides, the deliveries of the Levin family reached 16,356 units, with a substantial year-on-year growth of 14.9% in April.

It is noteworthy that the total deliveries of the Camry Hybrid and the Levin Hybrid reached 4,888 units in April, surging 36.7% over the previous year. Particularly, 1,399 units of the Camry Hybrid were delivered, skyrocketing 249.8% over the previous year.

GAC Mitsubishi maintained its upward momentum with 11,967 vehicles delivered last month, remarkably rising 19.55% from a year ago and exceeding 10,000 units for 8 consecutive months. At the same time, the automaker boasted a year-on-year leap of 39.83% with cumulative sales up to 50,355 units. As the company's major driving force, the sales of the Outlander reached 7,828 units in the past month.
