BYD Jul sales breakdown: Qin 73,541 units, Song 65,275
The Qin family became the top-selling BYD model in July, dethroning the Song family, which has held the top spot in sales for the past year.
The Song family models on sale include the Song L EV, Song L DM-i, and Song Pro DM-i in the Dynasty lineup, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i in the Ocean lineup.
BYD's Dynasty series of Song models sold 28,328 units in July, up 14.88 percent from 24,658 units in June.
Its Ocean family of Song models sold 36,947 units in July, down 18.91 percent from 45,561 units in June.
The BYD Yuan family sold 40,952 units in July, up 30.19 percent year-on-year and up 13.06 percent from June.
The BYD Seagull sold 36,256 units in July, up 29.48 percent year-on-year and up 0.53 percent from June.
The Seagull was launched on April 26, 2023 and is the cheapest BYD model.
BYD launched the 2025 Seagull earlier today with a starting price of RMB 69,800 ($9,640), the same as its predecessor.
BYD Seal sold 33,595 units in July, up 494.60 percent year-on-year and up 37.64 percent from June.
The Seal family of models includes the Seal EV, Seal DM-i, and the Seal 06 DM-i.
BYD Chaser 05 sold 25,558 units in July, up 113.09 percent year-on-year but 22.5 percent lower than in June.
The BYD Han family sold 18,053 units in July, down 28.47 percent year-on-year and down 17.44 percent from June.
BYD Dolphin sold 12,399 units in July, down 61.19 percent year-on-year but up 14.17 percent from June.
BYD Tang sold 12,056 units in July, down 4.79 percent year-on-year and down 23.3 percent from June.
The BYD Sealion 07 sold 7,007 units in July, up 0.82 percent from 6,950 in June.
The model was launched on May 10 and is the first model of BYD's new technology platform, the e-Platform 3.0 Evo.
BYD e2 sold 689 units in July, down 72.98 percent year-on-year but up 18.79 percent from June.
The BYD Frigate 07 sold 316 units in July, down 92.98 percent year-on-year and down 39.11 percent from June.
BYD's premium Denza brand delivered 10,340 units in July, down 7.23 percent year-on-year and down 15.76 percent from June.
Denza deliveries in July included 9,030 units of the D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), 1,310 units of the N7 SUV (sport utility vehicle).
BYD's personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao delivered 1,842 vehicles in July, down 31.27 percent from 2,680 in June.
Fang Cheng Bao's first model, the Bao 5, was officially launched on November 9, 2023, and deliveries began on November 23.
On July 29, Fang Cheng Bao reduced the prices of the four variants of the Bao 5 all by RMB 50,000.
Yangwang delivered 439 vehicles in July, and the ultra-luxury sub-brand of BYD launched its first model, the U8, on September 20, 2023, with deliveries beginning on November 24.
The U8, which has a starting price of RMB 1.098 million, delivered 5,939 units from January to July.
Another Yangwang model, the U9 electric supercar, is set to begin deliveries later this month.
