Qoros 3 EV likely to hit market in November with range over 450km
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The annual sales target of Qoros will reach 100,000 units and challenge 120,000 units in 2018, according to senior executives of Qoros Auto. The annual sales target is 20,000 units more than its 80,000-unit target put forward in March this year.
In addition, Qoros will roll out one or two new-energy vehicle (NEV) models per year in NEV sector. What's more, the automaker's first NEV model, the Qoros 3EV, whose starting range will be 450km, is expected to hit the market before or after Auto Guangdong 2018.
In fact, the Qoros 3EV concept had been showcased at Auto China 2016. The model can sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds and boasts a speed up to 162km/h. The EV model only needs one hour to get 80% charged under the fast charging mode.
It is revealed that Qoros Auto posted sales of 6,967 units in 2014, 14,247 units in 2015, 24,188 units in 2016 and 15,382 units in 2017. From January to May, the total sales of Qoros's five models reached 23,754 units, skyrocketing 366% from a year earlier. However, Qoros's YTD sales feature a large gap with last year's sales target of 100,000 units. In addition, Qoros's models saw trends of sales drop except the Qoros 5.
Baoneng's acquisition helps Qoros see fast development in every aspect. Yao Zhenhua, chairman of Baoneng Group said that Baoneng will invest RMB 10 billion annually from 2018 through 2022 in the R&D of Qoros's new models. After signing with 51 new first-level dealers, Qoros announced the dealership number has reached 255.
