SAIC-GM-Wuling has launched the Binguo EV in Thailand, as Chinese automakers look to get a piece of the Southeast Asian auto market.

The Wuling Binguo EV was launched in Thailand on July 8 and became the new model offered locally by Wuling after the one-year anniversary of the Air EV's launch in Thailand, the company announced today.

Wuling is offering 2 versions of the Binguo EV locally with starting prices of 419,000 baht ($11,510) and 449,000 baht respectively.

The two variants of the Binguo EV available in Thailand both have a range of 333 kilometers.

The launch of the Binguo EV in Thailand marks the acceleration of Wuling's globalization, the company said.

SAIC-GM-Wuling's presence now covers more than 40 countries and regions, with cumulative exports exceeding 1 million units, the company said.

In January-May 2024, Wuling's market share of electric vehicles in Indonesia exceeded 50 percent, the top market share for three consecutive years, it said.
