Locally-produced Audi Q2 to go on sale in China this year
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Recently, local media have got a set of spy shots of the locally-produced Audi Q2 that is planned to go on sale in China this year. At the end of 2017, the elongated trial assembly version of Audi Q2 was off the production line in FAW-VW's Foshan plant in Guangdong province.
According to the spy shots exposed, it can be learnt that the locally-produced Q2 highly reproduces the exterior design of Q2's global version. The new model retains Audi's iconic design style while increases more youthful elements. For example, the large-sized hexagon intake grille and the all-new C-pillar design deliver a more dynamic and more energetic feeling.
The Q2's global model measures 4,190mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,510mm in height and features a wheelbase of 2,600mm. The locally-produced vehicle to be sold is the long-wheelbase version.
The new model is expected to carry the powertrain same as Q3. The 1.4L turbocharged engine is able to deliver a maximum power output of 110kW with a peak torque of 250Nm and the 2.0L turbocharged engine can output a power up to 132kW with a peak torque of 320Nm. As to the transmission system, it will adopt the 6-speed or 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Besides, its pure electric version is expected to be released in the future.
Positioned below the locally-produced Q3, the locally-produced Audi Q2 may be sold at a starting price lowered than Q3's RMB 249,000.
