Shanghai (ZXZC)- With the rising of new technology revolution and the booming of industrial transformation, new energy vehicle (NEV) and intelligent vehicles have become strategic directions for auto industry. Recently, China has introduced many policies on the development of both segments.

In NEV segment, a number of regulations have been introduced. Beijing municipal departments jointly issued a regulation for the promotion and application of NEVs to encourage the public to buy and use NEVs. To further support the innovative development of NEV, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration of Taxation published the catalogue of NEV models which are exempted from purchasing tax. This week, China’s seven ministries issued the Provisional Regulations for the Recycling of New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Power Battery.

Currently, the government is formulating innovative development strategies for NEV and intelligent vehicles as well as the timetable and roadmap. The government aims to outline the strategic development direction of China’s auto industry via making strategies and thus to gain advantages in the new-round industrial transformation boom.

From the global industry development, the industry has required more low-carbon and intelligent products. The roadmap is expected to focus on the power, material and system, covering six segments including vehicle manufacturing technology, power battery and fuel battery technology, environmental perception and autonomous driving technology.
