Changan sees MoM sales surge of 31.78% in January

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Changan Automobile released its January output and sales on Feb. 9. It sold 154,371 vehicles in January. Strikingly, its SUVs set a record high with deliveries of 85,074 units.

Specifically, sales of the compact SUV, the Changan CS55 reached 23,209 units in January, jumping 31.78% month on month. However, deliveries of the Changan CS75 totaled 21,162 units, down 2.05% month on month.

What's worth mentioning, deliveries of the Changan CS35 enjoyed a sales surge of 54.55% month on month to 21,553 units. The subcompact SUV, the Changan CS15 also saw a MoM sales surge of 59.11% to 6,218 units. With deliveries of 1,444 units in January, the Changan CS95 soared 83.48% month on month.

When it comes to sedans, Changan Automobile delivered 16,905 units in January. Among them, sales of the Raeton CC totaled 6,421 units. And the January sales of the compact sedan, the Eado reached 5,286 units. Though the Eado is an old model, it still remains the sales driver in sedan field for Changan.

As the NEVs grow increasingly important, Changan Automobile will also pay much emphasis on NEV field. In January, it delivered 2,873 NEVs. Previously, it officially released Shangri-La plan which will cost RMB 100 billion. Moreover, the automaker also plans to ban the traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles by 2025 and will release 21 new pure electric vehicle models and 12 plug-in hybrid vehicle models in the future.
