Lexus China sales surges 45% YoY to 13,677 units in January

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Lexus, the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor's luxury vehicle brand, sold 13,677 vehicles in China last month, jumping 45% year on year. 

The monthly sales of its hybrid series reached 4,095 units in January, accounting for 30% of total Lexus' China sales. The cumulative sales of the hybrid power models have already exceeded 150,000 units in China.

As to models, the major driving force was ES with 5,764 units delivered last month. Besides, January sales of RX and NX reached 2,679 units and 2,813 units respectively.

The brand’s two flagship models, all-new LS and all-new LC, have already received 1,247 orders in total since they went on sales last month.

Lexus boasted a year-on-year sales growth of 22% with an annual sales volume of 132,864 units in China throughout 2017, hitting a record high of annual sales in this country. Leading sales for the lineup was the ES sedan, followed by the NX and RX crossovers.

On February 8, Lexus China's new executive vice general-manager Hitoshi Ohtake revealed that in 2018, the company will focus on improving the brand image and optimizing the supply chain management to achieve a sound development of the whole value chain.
