Changan's new EV brand Nevo launches debut model A07 in EREV and BEV versions
The Qiyuan A07 is available in three EREV variants and two BEV variants, a strategy that has been proven by local EV makers to be more effective in gaining sales than just offering BEVs.
The model is slightly smaller and less expensive than BYD's flagship sedan, the Han EV, which measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.
The Qiyuan A07 is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor, with the EREV version having a slightly weaker motor than the BEV version.
The Qiyuan A07 EREV has a peak motor power of 160 kW and a peak torque of 320 Nm. It is equipped with the same range-extender as the Deepal SL03, with a displacement of 1.5L and up to 70 kW.
With this powertrain, the Qiyuan A07 EREV takes 7.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour.
The EREV is powered by a 28.39-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a CLTC battery range of up to 200 km.
The Qiyuan A07 BEV is powered by an electric motor with a peak power of 190 kW and peak torque of 320 Nm, the same as the company's other new energy brand, the Deepal SL03 BEV. The model accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.9 seconds.
The BEV comes with a battery pack with a capacity of 58.1 kWh and has a CLTC range of 515 kilometers.
Qiyuan is an EV brand that was officially launched on August 27, and Changan said at the time that the brand's product matrix will include the A-series, Q-series and E0-series.
Qiyuan will release four models within the year, including the A05, A06, A07 and Q05, and by 2025, the brand's product matrix will have 10 products sold globally, Changan said at the time.
Currently, Changan has new energy brands under its umbrella, including Qiyuan, Deepal and Avatr.
