Nio (NYSE: NIO) has opened a new Nio House, its 134th globally and largest to date, on the campus where its F2 facility is located.
The Nio House, which officially opened today, is located in the NeoPark industrial park in Hefei, Anhui province. With a floor area of more than 4,000 square meters, it is not only the largest Nio House, but also Nio's first zero-carbon facility, according to the company.
Nio Houses is Nio's flagship showroom, which functions not only to display and sell vehicles, but also as a lifestyle space for Nio's owners. The company's showrooms in China also include the smaller Nio Spaces.
NeoPark is an electric vehicle (EV) industrial park jointly promoted by Nio and the Hefei municipal government, and on April 29, 2021, the two jointly announced the start of construction of NeoPark.
Nio's vehicles are produced at two factories in Hefei, including the F1 factory, the JAC Nio advanced manufacturing base, and the F2 factory in NeoPark, which is NeoPark's first project.
The Nio House at NeoPark has a design not found in all other such facilities -- a corridor on the second floor that provides direct access to Nio's F2 factory.
Visitors will be able to see directly into Nio's manufacturing process, have a product experience, and get a unique in-depth exploration, the company said.
The NeoPark is 16,950 mu (11.3 square kilometers) in size and can accommodate an annual vehicle capacity of up to one million units and an annual battery capacity of 100 GWh, with an upfront investment of 50 billion yuan ($7 billion), said William Li, Nio's founder, chairman, and CEO, when announcing the start of construction of the park in 2021.
The first model produced at the F2 plant was the Nio ET5, which began deliveries at the end of September 2022.
Originally, both the old ES6 and ES8 were produced at the F1 plant, but to ensure capacity, the F1 plant now mainly produces the new ES6, while the new ES8 has been shifted to the F2 plant, according to a Caixin report on August 21.
Near the show car area of the Nio House, Nio has a Nio Power display and a VR interactive area.
The Nio Life experience area on the second floor of the Nio House accommodates all of Nio's lifestyle brands, including Nio Life, Blue Sky Lab, Nio Racing, EPedition, and NOMI.
