Singulato Motors to provide more value-added services in autonomous driving area

Shanghai (ZXZC)- At 2018 Global Autonomous Driving Forum held by ZXZC, Li Jianpeng, director of autonomous vehicle architecture of Singulato Motors (Singulato), extended the company’s vision to provide more value-added services in autonomous driving area.

As a Chinese electric vehicle startup founded in 2014, Singulato has focused on autonomous driving and AI technologies in its vehicle-making process. Li stated that the driving system will undertake more and more tasks of decision-making when vehicles are runnig on roads, which requires a wider perceiving range and more precise detection ability for the system. This could only be realized by fusing AI technologies into the autonomous driving system.

The speaker also expressed that the emergence of information technologies, such as AI and autonomous driving, have tremendously impacted on traditional auto industry and brought plentiful innovative opportunities to the tech startups like Singulato. Besides, Li predicted that the market valuation in intelligent-connected vehicle and autonomous driving industry will be increased to around $150 billion by the end of 2020.

From Li’s speech, it could be learnt that building vehicles with autonomous driving functions is not the company’s target. Singulato aims to provide more value-added services for drivers based on the autonomous driving and intelligent-connected platform.

The first major service is intelligent travelling. The company wishes to provide tailored taxi service and car-rental service using autonomous vehicles. Besides, achieving vehicle management and maintenance through in-vehicle connected system is also included in the company’s vision.

The other one is to provide various value-added services for drivers. How is the value added? For instance, drivers don’t have to sit behind and control the steering wheel all the time because the human function is replaced by autonomous driving system. Apart from being released from the toilsome driving operation, drivers can do on-line shopping, browse information on Internet or just entertain themselves through the system. Meanwhile, the company considers that vehicle trade is not the only channel to make profit for auto industry. Autonomous driving technologies will stimulate the birth of relevant new services and products. Automakers can make profits by providing the new services for drivers.
