Cadillac aims to sell 200,000 vehicles in China 2018

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Cadillac plans to sell 200,000 vehicles in China this year with a predictable year-on-year annual sales growth of 15.6%, according to Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen's.

Last year, Cadillac of SAIC-GM posted a year-on-year sales growth of 46.6% to 173,017 units (excluding imported vehicles), achieving double-digit sales growth for 22 consecutive months. China surpassed the United States as the brand's largest retail market for the first time.

By the end of 2017, Cadillac's dealerships in China had exceeded 180. In the future, the automaker plans to increase this number to 300.

Cadillac will complete the modification and upgrading of the existing models being sold globally by the end of 2021. Currently, SAIC-GM produces ATS-L, XTS, XT5, CT6 and ATS in China, which are expected to be upgraded synchronizing with the upgrading in overseas areas. 

At present, Cadillac only owns two SUV models, ESCALADE and XT5. According to official news, in the last quarter this year, the automaker will launch an all-new compact SUV XT4 in America. Meanwhile, this model is expected to be introduced in China for sales and be locally produced by China.
