SAIC-GM-Wuling launches Baojun Yunduo compact EV with starting price of about $13,270

The Baojun Yunduo is the second model launched by the Baojun brand this year and is expected to compete with the BYD Dolphin and Volkswagen's ID.3.

For comparison, the BYD Dolphin measures 4,125 / 4,150 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width and 1,570 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

The BYD Dolphin is currently available in three variants with starting prices of RMB 116,800, RMB 123,800 and RMB 136,800 respectively.

The Baojun Yunduo's motor has a peak power of 100 kW and peak torque of 200 Nm.

The vehicle is powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries with pack capacities of 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh, and CLTC ranges of 360 km and 460 km, respectively.

SAIC-GM-Wuling is a joint venture between SAIC, General Motors and Liuzhou Wuling Motors and is headquartered in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in southwestern China.

It mainly sells vehicles based on the GSEV (Global Small Electric Vehicle) architecture in China, including the Mini EV, KiWi EV, Nano EV, and Air EV. In addition to these all-electric models, SAIC-GM-Wuling also sells fuel-powered SUVs, MPVs, and vans.

In the mini EV segment, in addition to the hot-selling Mini EV, SAIC-GM-Wuling launched the Air EV, a mini electric vehicle, in China last December and the Binguo EV at the end of March this year.

On May 25, the Baojun brand launched its new mini EV, the Yep, with a starting price of RMB 89,800 yuan.
