Mazda 2017 sales exceeds 300,000 vehicles in China
Shanghai (ZXZC)- In 2017, Mazda sold 309,407 vehicles (excluding imported vehicles) into China's auto market, increasing 8.3% year on year. It not only exceeded remarkably its initial annual target of 290,000 units, but also reached the annual sales volume of 300,000 units for the first time.
In December 2017, Mazda's two joint ventures in China sold 33,019 units in total, dropping 7.2% from the previous year. Among them, Changan Mazda's December sales were 21,412 units, shrinking by 9.1% year on year, but hitting the monthly sales record in 2017. Down to models, the New Mazda3 Axela sold over 16,000 units in December 2017. The cumulative order quantity of the second generation Mazda CX-5 was 19,000 units since it came to market for sale on September 21, 2017.
The sales of FAW Mazda were reduced 3.5% from a year earlier to 11,607 units in December 2017. Its annual sales reportedly reached around 124,000 units, up 35.7% year on year, surpassing the annual sales target of 120,000 units it set at the beginning of 2017.
