BMW to launch six new SUV models in China

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Since BMW introduced SUV in 1999, the cumulative sales of this segment has reached more than 5.5 million units across the globe. Liu Zhi, President of BMW China Automotive Trading Ltd. said in an interview that BMW would release all-new BMW X2, new X3, new BMW X4 and new BMW X5 in China in the year 2018 and introduce BMW X6 and X7 in 2019. Among them, new BMW X2 and X3 will be launched in the first half and middle of next year respectively.

New BMW X2 has vertical-type double-kidney air inlet grilles decorated with chromed-plated banners in the rim. The new model will be equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T engines with maximum power of 141KW and peak torque of 280NM for the latter. Its transmission system will equip with 8-speed AMT gearboxes.

New BMW X3 will be launched in the middle of 2018 with double-kidney air inlet grilles in front face and front headlights containing LED light sources. The new model will be equipped with 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, suspension SZM LCD display screen, rear view camera, double dash boards and moving gear shifts.

Made on the new CLAR platform, new BMW X5 uses many light-weight materials including aluminum alloy and high-tension steel, with its weight being expected to decrease 100KG. New model shows obvious changes in exterior designs with larger size of air inlet grilles in front face, slim headlights and round lines in the roof. The model shows sporting image and square shape in overall structure.
