Shanghai (ZXZC)- GAC Mitsubishi has been committed to strengthening and improving products, channels and services in recent years. Till the end of November, 2017, GAC Mitsubishi has achieved sales growth for consecutive 15 months. It’s learned from GAC Group official news that the group has approved the expansion and renovation plan of the joint venture’s second phase project. When the factory expansion completes, GAC Mitsubishi annual capacity will increase 100,000 units. The project, with a total investment of RMB 529.8 million plans to be put into production in October, 2018.

Currently, GAC Mitsubishi Xingsha factory has an annual capacity exceeding 130,000 units to produce SUV models including Outlander. GAC Mitsubishi factory assembly plant is able to produce frame and frameless bodies on multi-platforms, as well as new models. GAC Mitsubishi will have an annual capacity exceeding 230,000 units when the second phase project is put into operation.

GAC Mitsubishi has a total sales volume of 106,081 units with a year-on-year growth of 116% from January to November this year, making many records in markets. It’s quite necessary for the company to expand capacity at this time.

At the beginning of this year, GAC Mitsubishi also started new engine factory construction project with an annual capacity of 300,000 units. The first phase of the engine factory is expected to start production in 2018 with an annual capacity of 150,000 units. The new factory will introduce 4JI series 2.0L and 2.4L normally aspirated engines to adopt Mitsubishi latest SMART MIVEC technology.
