China's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales improved in the fourth week of September compared to the previous week, with major car companies generally seeing increased sales.

From September 19-25, Chinese passenger car sales were 455,763 units, up 11.92 percent year-on-year and 16.38 percent from the previous week, according to insurance registration data shared today by auto blogger @朱玉龙-YL.

Sales of new energy passenger cars in China during the period were 139,208 units, up 63.81 percent year-on-year and 26.09 percent from the previous week.

Sales of conventional internal combustion engine vehicles during the period were 316,555 units, down 1.77 percent year-on-year and up 12.57 percent from the previous week.

BYD sold 44,960 units in the week, up about 10,000 units from the previous week, according to the blogger.

Tesla was 23,109 units, up more than 7,000 units from the previous week. Model Y sales were 13,638 units for the week.

Nio was at 2,844 units, up from 1,745 the week before, with the ET7 at nearly 900 units.

Deliveries of the Nio ET7 began on March 28, with 3,126 units delivered in August. The company is expected to start deliveries of the ET5 on September 30.

Li Auto was 2,876 units, up from 2,628 units the previous week, with Li L9 at 2,619 units.

Li Auto officially launched the Li L9, the company's second model after the Li ONE, on June 21, with first deliveries starting on August 30.

Xpeng Motors was at 1,975 units, up from 1,775 the previous week, including 1,112 units of the P7 sedan.

Xpeng officially launched its flagship SUV, the G9, on September 21, with deliveries to begin at the end of October.

GAC Aion was at 5,581 units, Neta at 3,637 units, Zeekr at 2,627 units and Seres at 2,092 units.
