NDRC to release auto industry antimonopoly guideline
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Antimonopoly Bureau Chief Zhang Handong, stated on the annual meeting held by China Automobile Dealers Association on November 14th in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province that, antimonopoly process in auto industry will never stop.
Zhang also revealed that Auto Industry Antimonopoly Guideline has been completed and would come out soon. The Guideline will give instruction to operators and effectively supervise antimonopoly behaviors, thus decreasing operators’ compliance costs and increasing consumers’ benefits. Zhang said that China has the largest growth among all global auto consuming markets, and that effective competition in auto market is closely connected with industrial developments, consumers’ benefits, employment and environmental protection. Supervision on auto industry competition is an important task for the bureau.
According to Zhang, five major tasks are listed in the future auto antimonopoly process, including regulation on price monopoly, vertical monopoly, abuse of market dominance status, tackling with global competition and multi-national monopoly, and improvements of systems and policies.
It’s hoped that antimonopoly process would march towards precision, standardization and normalization by way of the above measures.
