Jidu will unveil its first concept car robot in the first half of 2022, with mass production and delivery set for 2023.

Jidu Auto will unveil the logo for its robot car at 10 a.m. Beijing time on January 18, the car-making arm of Baidu said today.

Jidu posted a teaser video on its WeChat account showing off a number of logo designs, but there's no clue yet what kind of logo it will use.

"New JIDU, see you tomorrow!" the company wrote in the text below the video.

Jidu was officially launched on March 2, 2021, and will build models based on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform and Baidu's technology in autonomous driving.

At the Baidu Create developer conference on December 27, 2021, the company's founder, chairman and CEO Robin Li said Jidu will unveil its first concept robot car in the first half of 2022, with mass production and delivery in 2023.

"The robot car is our judgment of the future of automotive development," Li said at the time, adding, "I am confident in Jidu's future and very excited about Jidu's robot car."

On January 5, Jidu said that its mock prototype Jidu SIMUCar for robot car development had successfully integrated intelligent driving functions for urban and high-speed scenarios, verifying the safety and reliability of the mass-production L4 autonomous driving capability in advance.

Baidu and Jidu jointly announced on January 6 during the CES 2022 event that Jidu's first production vehicle will be equipped with Nvidia DRIVE Orin System-on-Chip (SoC), the same option as Nio in the ET7 and ET5 sedans.

The model is expected to be available in 2023 and will be an L4 self-driving capable robot car, Jidu said, adding that a concept of the product is expected to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
