Geely appoints Nan Shengliang as International Company’s General Manager to explore overseas markets
It’s learned that Nan Shengliang, Vice General Manger of Geely Automobile Sales Company, will be appointed as General Manager of Geely Group International Company to explore Geely’s overseas businesses.
Established in July, 2002, Geely International Company is Geely Group’s only subsidiary engaging in exporting and importing businesses. It has set up representative offices in five strategic markets including CIS, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, as well as Central and South America.
Geely achieves great performance in domestic market in recent years, but its overseas business is quite dissatisfactory with declining sales volumes. For example, Geely Auto’s exporting volumes decreases 87% to 207 units in May, while the total sales volume in the five months declines 59% to 3,042 units.
“We should establish a system combining sales, after-sales services and maintenance to march into global markets. Because our overseas markets are almost emerging economies with complex market conditions, we should adopt prudent strategies to cope with the potential risks.” Insiders in Geely told reporters.
Nan Shengliang is an excellent sales talent in Geely Group. As the person in charge of SUV business, he actively promotes the developments of SUV. It’s expected that Nan’s appointment will help Geely Auto to make breakthroughs in overseas businesses.
