With the last Volkswagen Phaeton was completed on March 23 2016, the transparent factory of Volkswagen Dresden was officially shut down. Then the official released that they would transform the transparent factory for producing Volkswagen's latest version vehicles and those which equipped with the most advanced technology.

Recently, the media learned from the Volkswagen Group official that the Dresden public transparent factory has been officially put into producing the new e-Golf models in April this year. The design style of  the model overall continues the appearance of the golf. The body is equipped with multiple details. According to the information by the general manager Shi Ruide, the new car is expected to be imported into domestic in September this year, whose maximum mileage can reach 270 kilometers (domestic).

The new e-Golf is a compact hatchback version, whose overall appearance continuing the golf family’s, and using a lot of LED light, which give people a sense of science fiction. The car body also uses blue elements for decoration, a "e-Golf" logo makes the car recognizable.

In the interior design, the overall layout is similar to the petrol version, multifunctional leather wrapped steering wheel and leather seats are provided. There is a large-size touch screen in the center console, the Discover Media navigation system can realize convenient and quick route setting and the best solution sent for the owner can save a lot of time.

In the aspect of power, e-Golf is equipped with a 36 kW battery group, compared to cars on sales, its battery energy density has increased by 50%. The new car is also optimized in the motor, the original maximum power output of 80 kilowatts is increased to 100 kW, and the peak torque can exceed 330 nm. In terms of transmission, the new car is matched with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
