Huawei applies for more car-related patents
Huawei has recently added a number of patents that are related to cars, Chinese data provider Tianyancha's IP information shows.
Among them, the patent type "invention patent" includes: a method and apparatus for secret key access control; a method, apparatus, controller, smart car and system for vehicle positioning; a wireless charging method and electronic equipment; a multi-core chip and its scheduling method.
The patent type "utility model" includes: a folding electronic device; a center frame, a rear cover and an electronic device; a vehicle antenna module and a vehicle communication terminal.
The patent type "design patent" includes: a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a mobile phone with a graphical user interface
Earlier report this week showed that Huawei has applied to patent "a method and apparatus for autonomous driving" with a filing date of December 27, 2018. The application was made public on July 10, 2020, according to Tianyancha data.
The abstract showed that the patent determines an automated driving strategy based on the user's historical driving behavior data as well as current environmental data to enable safe driving.
It will acquire pre-existing driving behavior data as it passes through the target area with manual driving.
Huawei had previously said it won't build cars. However, it will still play a very important role in the transformation of the automotive industry.
In June 2019, Huawei issued an internal document announcing the establishment of a smart car solution BU, which is under the management of the ICT Management Committee.
