Changan Automobile Develops New 1.5T Engine
Shanghai, 2017.2.3, ZXZC - Belonging to the technical school, Changan Automobile adheres to independent research and development, realizing the full coverage from the whole vehicle to the core components. IIA learns from China Changan Automobile Group that new 1.5T engine, researched and developed by Dongan Auto Engine, has been officially ignited successfully. The new engine improves a lot in terms of performance, fuel consumption and matching compared to the existing 1.5T engine. At the same time, the dynamical parameter has exceeded BMW 1.5T engine.
On January 22, DAM15TGDI, the first turbocharged direct injection engine of DAAE, was ignited at the first time successfully. This means that a new 1.5T turbocharged engine was officially developed successfully by China Changan Automobile Group independently. The new engine will be assembled in the test vehicles for a more detailed performance test.
Many frontier technologies are applied into the engine, including dual-cylinder direct injection (350bar), free switching between Atkinson and Otto cycle, integrated intermediate locking VVT, integrated water-air cooling and electronic pumps. The frontier technology helps achieve double breakthrough in power and fuel economy, reaching the international leading fuel economy index. Rated power of the engine is 120kW / 5500rpm, and the maximum torque is 255N · m / 1600-4000rpm, fully meeting the four-stage fuel consumption and state emissions laws and regulations.
According to insiders of Changan Automobile, this engine can be equipped with MPV, SUV, cars, pickups, medium-sized passenger vehicles and many other models. Taking passenger cars for example, Yidong series, Yuexiang V7, CS55, and RAETON CC, etc. are expected to carry the new engine. CS35 and CS75, having been equipped with 1.5T engine, are also expected to be equipped with the new engine.
In addition, this new 1.5T engine is expected to be incorporated into the new energy power system, which means Changan Automobile's plug-in hybrid and hybrid electric vehicles are expected to use this new 1.5T engine in the future.
DAM15TGDI project will be started in April 2016, and will meet the requirement of batch production in April 2018.
