JAC is to Battle for 400 Thousand Units Sales despite of Unbalanced Sales Proportion in 2016
SHANGHAI January 18th, 2017 ZXZC – JAC announced its production and sales results of December 2016 recently. According to the report, JAC totally sold 367.3 thousand units passenger cars in 2016, 6.09% rose from that of 2015 and exceeded the 360 thousand unit’s sales target made in 2016. Introduced by Li Jianhua, vice-general manager of JAC’s Passenger Car Marketing Firm, JAC aims to achieve a sales target of 400 thousand units in 2017.
SUVs Continually Make Contribution
At present, JAC has products in various segments involving passenger cars like SUVs, MPVs, sedans and NEVs, and commercial vehicles like trucks and vans. According to the results of December 2016 announced by JAC, JAC have obviously increased in SUV and MPV segments, while sales of sedan reduced by 20%.
In December 2016, sales of JAC SUVs was 27.5 thousand units; and that of MPVs was 5815 units, a year-on-year growth of 25.03%. Sales of sedan in December 2016 improved 90% to 3969 units benefit from the list of Refine A60 flagship and adjustment of preference for purchase taxes of cars with 1.6L displacement. But it is rare for sales of sedan to account for less than 7% of total monthly sales.
Except for the Refine S2 mini listed in the beginning of this year, JAC is going to have more NEV products. The pure-electric mode of Refine A60, iEV7C, and IEV6E will hit the market within this year. In addition, Refine S7, the brand new 7-seat middle-sized SUV, and the two MPVS Refine M6, Refine M4 1.5T will also come out in 2017.
Sales Proportion of Models is Unbalanced
Despite of sales reduction of sedans, sales proportion of JAC’s different models is unbalanced. Sales of SUVs accounted for more than 74% of the 367 thousand units sold, while sales of sedans only accounted for 17.5%, a quarter of that of SUVs.
