GAC Fiat’s 2016 sales break record and domestic model sales increase 260%

Shanghai January 5th, 2017 ZXZC-GAC Fiat Chrysler Automobile Co., Ltd launches three domestic Jeep brand models, including the New Cherokee, New Renegade and New Compass in 2016. Besides, its sales volume increases greatly since domestically made models are sold in China. Official data shows that it sells a total of 179,872 units in 2016, mainly benefited from the 260% sales growth by domestic models. Domestic models sell 142,216 units in 2016, accounting for 79% of total sales volume.

New Jeep Cherokee’s annual sales volume exceeds 100,000 units in its first year, ranking top 3 among joint-venture SUV models priced at RMB 200,000 to 300,000 in terms of sales volume. New Jeep Renegade, which has been launched into market for only half a year, ranks first among middle and high-end small-size SUV models priced at RMB 150,000 to 170,000 in sales. The newly launched New Jeep Compass has won more than 130,000 intended customers, and it is predicted that it will also receive good market performance by its suitable price and competitive power.

Currently, GAC Fiat Chrysler has two manufacturing factories in Guangzhou and Changsha. Guangzhou factory, the second world-class production base, has been put into operation. Annual capacity of Changsha Factory exceeds 100,000 units in only nine months, which is the first time in history.

By way of imported and domestic channels, variable models including SUVs and cars, the dealership network and net construction system, GAC Fiat Chrysler accomplishes the integration of four dealerships brands, including Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge six months ahead of time. More than 400 4S dealership stores, covering 100% of domestic first, second and third tier cities and 75% of fourth or below tier cities, are able to sell multi brands at the end of 2016.
