This milestone marks not only the addition of another Chinese company to the Fortune Global 500 but also the first Chinese automaker with the highest export volume to join the ranks.
The combined operating revenue of the companies on this year’s Fortune Global 500 list is approximately $41 trillion, a 0.1% increase from the previous year. The minimum revenue required to make the list was $32.1 billion. A total of 133 Chinese companies made the list, with a combined revenue of about $11 trillion in 2023.
Chery Holding, representing China's independent automotive brands, has achieved this honor after 27 years of development, which saw the company navigate both the rapid growth and significant transformations of the Chinese automotive industry. Today, Chery boasts 14.2 million global users and operates in over 80 countries and regions.
Chery Group is currently on a high-growth trajectory. From 2021 to 2023, annual sales nearly doubled from 962,000 vehicles to 1.881 million vehicles. Chery has cumulatively exported 3.9 million vehicles, maintaining its position as the top Chinese passenger car exporter for 21 consecutive years.
In the first half of 2024, Chery continued its momentum, selling over 1.1 million vehicles, representing a 48.4% year-on-year surge and setting a new record. Remarkably, Chery is the only automaker in the industry to achieve double growth in both new energy vehicles and oil-fueled vehicles, as well as in domestic and overseas markets.
