Geely Automobiles scores two-digit YoY surge in both July NEV sales, export volume

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (“Geely Automobile” or “the Group”) announced that its total sales volume reached 150,782 vehicles in July 2024, rising around 13% over the prior-year period.

For the first seven months of the year, Geely Automobile sold 1,106,512 vehicles, representing a year-on-year jump of 36%.

Among the vehicles the Group sold last month, new energy vehicles (NEVs) accounted for a sales volume of 59,051 units, indicating a remarkable year-on-year leap of 58%. Regarding performance by powertrain solutions, the sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) stood at 30,858 units and 28,193 units, growing 26% and 119% from a year earlier, respectively.

As for the year-to-date sales, Geely Automobile sold 379,236 NEVs (+105% YoY) in total, including 217,905 BEVs (+45%) and 161,331 PHEVs (+361% YoY).

Notably, the Group saw its export volume zoom up 65% over the previous year to 32,382 vehicles in July, resulting in a Jan.-Jul. volume of 229,810 units, which shot up 67% from the year-ago period.

Breaking down the July sales by specific brands and product ranges, there were 113,855 Geely-branded vehicles sold last month, showing a 9% year-over-year increase. Of those, 16,704 units came from the brand's new energy vehicle range Galaxy, demonstrating a year-on-year surge of 66%. What's more, ZEEKR and Lynk & Co brands boasted year-on-year increases of 30% and 24% with 15,655 and 21,272 vehicles sold last month, respectively.
