Porsche to put all-electric Macan onto market at Auto China 2024
Following its initial showcase in Singapore, the all-electric Porsche Macan is set to make a striking appearance at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) and hit the market at the same time, Porsche said recently.
As the first model under the Volkswagen Group banner to be developed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the full-electric Macan retains Porsche's hallmark driving performance while elevating aspects such as range, and smart technology features. Moreover, to enhance the driving experience for owners, Porsche has significantly expanded its exclusive charging network.
The Macan stands as a testament to Porsche's sales prowess within its product lineup. In 2023, Porsche's global sales exceeded 320,000 vehicles, with the Macan and Cayenne jointly contributing to nearly half of these sales with around 87,000 units sold each.
In the realm of electrification, Porsche has shown commendable progress. In 2023, approximately 40,000 units of the full-electric Taycan were sold worldwide, marking a 17% increase compared to the previous year. The introduction of the new all-electric Macan is expected to further propel Porsche's advancements in electric mobility.

The electric Macan boasts up to 300 kW (408 PS) and 470 kW (639 PS) of power output in its Macan 4 and Macan Turbo versions, respectively. With peak torque figures of 650 Nm and 1,130 Nm and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 and 3.3 seconds, respectively, both two variants are equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack, achieving a maximum range of 784 km (under the WLTP conditions in urban areas) on a single charge.
Additionally, the new all-electric Macan features an intelligent ambient lighting system that visually displays the vehicle's driving mode, driver assistance systems, and door opening warnings with various colors and dynamic effects, adding practical functionality to what was previously purely aesthetic.

To tailor the driving experience to Chinese consumers, the development of the electric Macan considered China's unique driving environment and cultural background from the outset, said Porsche. This includes integrating traditional Chinese solar terms and pre-installing a suite of applications like Kuwo Music, Ximalaya, Leting, and iQIYI, with the option to download additional apps such as Tencent Aiquting, bilibili, and Volcano Car Entertainment, catering to a wide range of audio and video entertainment needs.

With the arrival of the all-new electric Macan, Porsche's smart connected experience reaches new heights. Notably, it introduces the "Porsche Charging Planner", which recommends the optimal route and charging solutions based on the vehicle's remaining battery life and current traffic conditions, enhancing the smart mobility experience.
A key highlight is Porsche's dedicated charging network, designed around owners' lifestyles and travel habits. This network consists of exclusive city charging stations, highway service area charging stations, and destination charging stations at luxury hotels, restaurants, golf courses, and marinas.
As of March 2024, nearly 300 exclusive city charging stations mainly cover Porsche Centers and upscale urban areas, 53 highway charging stations are operational, and 82 destination charging stations have been established. Combined with access to over 530,000 compatible third-party charging points, this network significantly ensures a seamless recharging experience for owners.
