As Gasgoo previously reported, FAW Group halted the production of its automobile manufacturing plants on March 13th due to the sudden COVID outbreak in the province. Changchun, the capital city of Jilin province, is home to five factories of FAW Group’s main brands, including Hongqi, FAW Jiefang, FAW Bestune, FAW-Volkswagen, and FAW Toyota.
In order to ensure a smooth and safe working environment, local Jilin authorities will offer help to the auto group.
Firstly, the authorities and FAW Group will facilitate a consultation mechanism with a designated workgroup hosting online meetings and solving problems timely.
Secondly, corresponding government supervisors of local automotive industry chain will push forward the work resumption throughout the chain. Up till now, the first batch of 47 auto parts companies is returning to each’s position in an orderly fashion.
Additionally, detailed pandemic prevention measures are required for all parties that resumed operations. Living necessities and medicines need to be prepared for each staff member returning to work, as well as daily COVID tests.
Furthermore, aside from ensuring the logistics transportation within the province, local Jilin authorities will set up an interprovincial cooperative mechanism to ensure the logistics between 8 auto plants outside of Jilin province and 139 suppliers within the province.
