Intl carmakers attract consumers at Hainan expo
International vehicle makers including Tesla are wowing visitors at the second China International Consumer Products Expo held in Haikou, Hainan province.
Tesla's 200-square meter booth is a highlight of the expo that kicked off on Monday, offering visitors opportunities to learn about the latest developments about smart electric vehicles.
This is the second time that the US carmaker has been present at the expo.
Tesla said Hainan's plan to phase out sales of gasoline vehicles by 2030 is consistent with the company's aspiration to build a clean future.
In Hainan province, Tesla has supercharging stations and charging pillars in 10 cities, including Haikou and Sanya.
Across the country, Tesla has built a charging network covering over 370 cities and regions.
Other well-known carmakers including Italy's Maserati and Ferrari are showing their eye-catching models at the event, including the MC 20 super car.
The event, which kicked off on Monday, has attracted more than 2,800 boutique brands from 61 countries and regions.
The organizers said about 40,000 buyers and professional visitors are expected to attend the expo, which will end on Saturday.
