FAW Toyota launches bZ4X SUV

Sino-Japanese carmaker FAW Toyota launched an electric SUV on Tuesday. The model, called bZ4X, is the first model built based on Toyota's e-TNGA platform.

The SUV is available in five variants, priced from 199,800 yuan ($27,713) to 284,800 yuan, and its driving range on one charge is from 400 to 615 kilometers depending on the variant.

The bZ4X measures 4,690 millimeters in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, with the space for the second-row reaching 1,000 mm.

The model features the smart Toyota Safety 3.0 system and up to eight air bags. In terms of smart features, the bZ4X is capable of voice command, facial recognition as well as connectivity and digital keys.

FAW Toyota said deliveries of the model are expected to start from late October.

The carmaker also unveiled a mid-sized electric sedan called the bZ3 on Tuesday, but did not offer details about the model. FAW Toyota said it is stepping up efforts to go electric, with more models to come in the future.
