Ontime launches smart management system for robotaxi vehicles
Ontime, a mobile transportation platform headquartered in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, launched a smart management system for robotaxi vehicles on Wednesday, aiming to build a healthy operation mode for robotaxi business.
The system will help reduce the comprehensive costs of charging, cleaning, maintenance and handling of accidents, therefore improving the operation stability of vehicles connected to the platform.
The system, consisting of management of assets, operation and service, will also help extend the online service time and increase business revenue, according to the company.
The smart management system will open its service for all robotaxi vehicles linked to Ontime, after releasing operation technology and supervision platforms, which has enabled the company to complete data connection with several domestic automatic driving companies.
"We are promoting access to more high-quality automatic driving capacities and continuously improving the commercial operation solutions and vehicle operation infrastructure to industrial partners," said Hang Feng, chief operation officer with Ontime.
Early in October, the company launched operations consisting of manned and automatic vehicles in Guangzhou, becoming the first travel platform in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to realize dual operations of robotaxis.
The dual operation, which refers to simultaneous operation of two types of transports, covers the entire area of the city's Nansha district, with more than 60 autonomous vehicles offering autonomous driving service.
