Dongfeng Honda launches new Civic
Sino-Japanese joint venture Dongfeng Honda launched the 11th-generation Civic hatchback on Tuesday.
The model has two powertrain options — the 240 Turbo and the e: HEV — and is available in six variants. They are priced from 145,900 yuan ($20,930) to 179,900 yuan.
Variants with the 240 Turbo engine generate a maximum output of 134 kilowatts and a top torque of 240 Newton meters. Both the G-Design Shift gearbox and the six-speed manual transmission are available to ensure an exciting driving experience.
The e: HEV variants, thanks to Honda's fourth-generation i-MMD system, cut fuel consumption to 4.61 liters per 100 kilometers.
The carmaker also launched the Civic Type R, one of the models that best show Honda's racing technologies. The model is priced at 420,000 yuan. First unveiled in 1972, more than 27 million Civics have been sold across the globe. The Civic first came to China in 2006.
