GAC Group opens technology museum in Nansha
Chinese automobile manufacturer GAC Group has opened a technology museum in Nansha of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, to display its technological innovation achievements in new energy and intelligent connection of vehicles.
The museum, with a construction area of 7,800 square meters, will also serve as a center of customer experience, product exhibition and sales service, according to the company.
To promote self-reliance technology, GAC Group has been firmly transforming itself into a technology-driven company since 2019, achieving various industry-leading technologies in the fields of new energy and intelligent connection vehicles.
GAC Toyota, for example, has formed a production capacity of one million vehicles after completion of five production lines in its Nansha plant, helping Nansha to build an industrial ecological chain from complete manufacturing of vehicles, research and development of NEVs, automobile parts manufacturing and intelligent connected vehicles.
In a latest development, Greater Bay Technology, a project incubated by GAC Group, has invested 3 billion yuan ($583 million) to build an extreme fast charging battery industry base in Nansha. The project will be completed and put into operation in 2023.
