GWM sees NEV sales, exports hit records

Great Wall Motors, China's largest SUV and pickup truck maker, sold 28,920 new energy vehicles in July, up 163.1 percent year-on-year.

The company, headquartered in Baoding, Hebei province, released the statistics on Friday.

Ora contributed most to GWM's NEV sales in July, with the electric marque's deliveries in the month reaching 10,116 units.

It was closely followed by Haval, whose NEV sales reached 10,105 units. GWM said the marque had seen its sales exceeding 10,000 for two months in a row.

GWM's premium marque Wey ranked third in NEV sales, delivering 6,652 units in July.

The carmaker saw its overseas sales reaching a record high as well last month.

A total of 27,007 vehicles were sold outside of China in July, soaring 83.6 percent year-on-year.

July marked the fifth consecutive month GWM's overseas sales had exceeded 20,000 units. Its overseas sales from January to July totaled 150,937 units, up 94.7 percent year-on-year.

They brought GWM's total sales in July to 109,091 units, up 7.03 percent year-on-year. In the first seven months, the company had delivered a total of 628,317 vehicles.
