Spotlight on Chinese automakers’ new energy vehicles at Auto China 2024
The 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) officially opened its doors on April 25. Themed "Driving to Smart Mobility" this year, the 10-day auto show features 117 vehicles making their global debut, including 30 from global corporations, 41 concept cars, and a remarkable total of 278 new energy vehicles (NEVs).
Undoubtedly, this year's Auto China is a spectacular feast of vision and technology. From the first day, major car brands pulled back the curtain on their highly anticipated new models, offering an overwhelming array of choices. At this grand event, Gasgoo has meticulously selected some of the most exciting and noteworthy NEV models displayed by Chinese automakers. These vehicles stand out not only for their innovative design but also for embodying the latest advancements in automotive technologies.
STELATO S9
At the Auto China 2024, Huawei, in partnership with BAIC BluePark, unveiled the STELATO S9, a new model developed under HIMA (Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance), an automotive alliance initiated by Huawei.
As the first executive luxury flagship sedan under HIMA, the STELATO S9 is expected to retail for around 500,000 yuan.

On the sides, the STELATO S9 features a hidden water-cut design for the first time, resulting in a more elegant and sophisticated profile. Additionally, the design of the STELATO S9 prioritizes functionality, with body contours that optimize airflow and greatly reduce aerodynamic drag for enhanced performance.
Moreover, the STELATO S9 offers more premium features than ever before, including being the HIMA's first flagship sedan to be equipped with streaming media rearview mirrors.
ZEEKR MIX
As the fifth model from Geely's ZEEKR brand, the ZEEKR MIX retains the classic elements of ZEEKR's iconic design but stands out with its unique MPV-like body shape, affectionately nicknamed the "Baby Bus" by netizens. The design is inspired by the "Tiangong Space Station," the carmaker revealed.

Inside, the new AVATR 11 maintains the classic design elements of the existing models with a minimalist design philosophy. The interior features a triple-screen setup, consisting of a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 10.25-inch driver entertainment screen, and a 10.25-inch full LCD dashboard, enhancing the cabin's technological ambiance.

The DEEPAL G318 is a mid-to-large-sized extended-range rugged off-road vehicle. It will be the first model to feature DEEPAL's Super Extended Range 2.0 technology. This vehicle offers a range of 190 km on battery power alone and a combined range of over 1,000 km under CLTC conditions. It boasts an energy generation of 3.63 kWh per liter of fuel, with an impressively low fuel consumption of only 6.7 L/100 km.

It is scheduled for official launch later this year, with both voice and smart driving features set to be upgraded to the 2.0 version in the third quarter of the year. Software updates are planned on a monthly basis.
The exterior design of the Ji Yue 07 features a closed front, complemented by Y-shaped headlights that provide a striking visual impact and high recognizability. The vehicle also comes with a distinctive new green color option.

The interior of the Qin L draws inspiration from traditional Chinese paintings, creating an elegant "landscape-painting cockpit." The integrated central console features a centerpiece revolving large screen that unfolds like an Eastern scroll across a jade-like dashboard, offering a strong wraparound sense. This setup is complemented by luxurious space, ergonomically designed plush "cloud feel" seats, and a suspension system comprising a front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent setup, ensuring a ride that is both comfortable and stable, transforming driving into a pleasurable experience.
Seal 06 DM-i
As BYD's latest mid-size sedan, the Seal 06 DM-i boasts a 2,790 mm wheelbase, offering both luxurious space and an aesthetically pleasing design. It features BYD's new Ocean Aesthetics design philosophy, presenting an elegant and dynamic form while utilizing high-quality materials and attention to detail. The car is built on a newly developed PHEV-dedicated platform with a novel E-type four-link independent suspension, incorporating BYD's latest technologies. This model is designed to meet the needs of young families, providing a high-quality new energy transportation option that surpasses traditional models in its class.

The Seal 06 DM-i model is set to hit the market in the second quarter of this year. With a price range of 120,000 yuan to 150,000 yuan, it effectively fills the market gap between the Seal DM-i and the Destroyer 05, accelerating the replacement of traditional gasoline-powered vehicles and propelling BYD's new energy initiatives forward.
OCEAN-M
Specifically designed for a young demographic, the OCEAN-M debuted globally at the Auto China 2024. It is priced between 150,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan and set to hit the market in the third quarter of 2024. The model features a new level of aesthetic design and a dedicated pure electric platform that offers a distinctive appearance and exceptional sports handling capabilities.

Powered by BYD's innovative BEV-dedicated platform, the OCEAN-M is equipped with several state-of-the-art technologies, including the next-generation CTB (cell-to-body) technology, an X-in-one intelligent electric drive system, and the iTAC (intelligent torque adaption control) technology, ensuring industry-leading safety, control, and energy efficiency.
Sea Lion 07 EV
As the first heavyweight model in the Sea Lion series and BYD Ocean range's inaugural mid-size all-electric SUV, the Sea Lion 07 EV is priced around 200,000 yuan and will go on sale next month.

Riding on BYD's latest BEV-dedicated platform, the model integrates several pioneering technologies and cutting-edge design elements, such as the "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driver assistance system, the new-generation CTB full-vehicle safety architecture, the Super iTAC, and the DiSus C system, among others, combining safety, aesthetic appeal, comfort, intelligence, performance, and efficiency in a powerful package that delivers a comprehensive intelligent mobility experience for consumers.
DENZA Z9GT
At the Auto China 2024, DENZA, a premium electric vehicle brand under BYD, globally premiered its luxury flagship sedan, the DENZA Z9GT.
The new model, designed for both the Chinese and international markets, is expected to have an overseas price tag potentially exceeding one million yuan.

Positioned as a flagship sedan in the million-yuan-level new energy vehicle segment, the vehicle is the first model to incorporate the DiSus-Z system, and is scheduled for market launch in the second half of the year.
The YANGWANG U7 boasts 1,300hp and can zip from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 270km/h. It comes standard with high-performance carbon-ceramic brake discs, achieving a braking distance of 33m from 100-0km/h. Its drag coefficient is only 0.195Cd under the 120km/h testing condition.
2024 NIO ET7 Executive Edition
At the Auto China 2024, the 2024 NIO ET7 Executive Edition, a smart electric high-end executive sedan designed to meet the needs of users in business scenarios, hit the market.

Second-generation AION V
At the Auto China 2024, GAC AION officially unveiled its first global strategic model, the second-generation AION V.

The second-generation AION V was created by a global design team from Los Angeles, Milan, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The styling of the new AION V draws inspiration from the classic vitality totem of the tyrannosaurus, maximizing the vehicle's classic and pure rugged genes.

The new vehicle features the "Blade Shadow Momentum" design language, characterized by sharp lines and rectangular features, adorned with cybernetic dragon claw elements throughout its design. It also includes the AION lettering at the rear. The official dimensions for this model are a length of 4,605 mm and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.
As an all-electric SUV, the second-generation AION V achieves a range of up to 750 km and is equipped with GAC Group’s proprietary second-generation ITS2.0 intelligent temperature control system, allowing for a charge of 370 km in just 15 minutes.
