China's largest SUV and pickup maker Great Wall Motor has partnered with social media giant Douyin Group to navigate its business in the era of digital and smart mobility.

The two will conduct in-depth cooperation in a total of nine aspects, ranging from big data, cloud infrastructure to smart driving and onboard functions, according to their deal inked on Monday.

"On the basis of ensuring user data security, we will work with Douyin to better understand customer demands and make the most of user data's value in products, to create a car-producing mode that is more aligned with the internet mindset," said Great Wall Motor.

The two companies will also build large models for vehicle cabins that are capable of solving problems and learning and create next-generation smart assistants for the carmaker.

Douyin is one of the most influential short-video platforms in the world. Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motor, said he hopes the deal with Douyin will help present better vehicle-related experience for users and promote the progress of China's automotive industry.

Great Wall Motor, based in Baoding, Hebei province, is one of the most popular carmakers in China.

It sold over 131,000 vehicles in October, up 31.04 percent year-on-year. Its total deliveries in the first 10 months this year totaled 995,000 units, up 10.29 percent year-on-year.
