Fang Cheng Bao launches first model
The first model of BYD's Fang Cheng Bao brand — the Bao 5 — officially hit the market on Thursday in Beijing. With three variants, the electric off-roader is priced from 289,800 yuan ($39,760) to 352,800 yuan.
Thanks to BYD's Dual Mode Off-roader super hybrid platform, the model can generate a maximum output of 505 kilowatts and a top torque of 760 Newton meters. It can accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour within four seconds.
To provide a safe driving experience, the Bao 5 is equipped with 11 airbags and more than 20 intelligent driving assistance functions such as parking assistance, multiple angle warning reminders, automatic emergency braking and blind spot detection.
Featuring the FiLink intelligent cockpit, the model enables the five screens inside the vehicle to connect and support continuous dialogue with an intelligent assistant as well as karaoke. Additional features will be implemented through online upgrades in the future.
Unveiled in August, the Fang Cheng Bao brand has began trial operations at 70 flagship stores and plans to open another 80 stores across nearly 40 cities this year.
