Two hybrid concepts made their global premiere on Thursday as part of Chinese carmaker Chery's efforts to charge into the heated segment.

The models, called A9 and T11 respectively, offer a glimpse into the Anhui province-based carmaker's plan to launch 11 hybrids bearing the new Fengyun marque in two years.

Thanks to its C-DM, which stands for Chery Dual Mode, the Fengyun models will see their fuel consumption stand at around 4.2 liters per 100 km.

The models will have an electric range of up to 200 km, which will extend their overall mileage to exceed 1,400 km.

In terms of smart features, they will have Level 3 plus functions that will enable them to navigate themselves in complex traffic situations.

Chery said it is building a brand-new service network for the Fengyun marque, composed of 400 dealerships and 1,500 service outlets in the country.

As one of the most popular carmakers in China, Chery sold 1.45 million vehicles in the first 10 months this year, up 41.6 percent year-on-year. Its sales in October hit a record of 200,000 units.
