Mercedes-Benz is seeing sales soar in China of models sitting at the top of its product range, saying it will introduce more such vehicles into the world's largest vehicle market this year.

Deliveries of Mercedes-Maybach and the G-Class grew 21 percent and 22 percent year-on-year in China in 2023, said the German premium carmaker on Thursday.

The Stuttgart-based company's total deliveries in the country stood at around 765,000 units last year, similar to the figure recorded in the previous year.

Duan Jianjun, president and CEO of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co, said the company will introduce a number of new top-end models into Chinese market this year.

Of them will be the electric G-Class, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, and the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 SUV.

There will be new and facelift models in the core luxury segment and the entry luxury segment as well, including the all-new CLE family and the new-generation EQA and EQB.

Mercedes-Benz will introduce at least 15 models into China this year, with a parallel focus on both gasoline vehicles and new energy ones, said Oliver Britz, executive vice-president of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Services Co.

"With a robust product lineup and unparalleled customer experiences, we aim to consistently fulfill the desire of Chinese customers for the Mercedes-Benz brand," said Britz.
