JAC Group posts 11.83% YoY dip in May auto sales
Beijing (ZXZC)- On June 12, Chinese automaker JAC Group announced it sold 34,568 vehicles in the fifth month of this year, which dropped 11.83% year on year but climbed 8.37% month on month.

JAC Group’s passenger car sector, including SUVs, MPVs, and sedans, achieved monthly sales of 14,566 units in May, representing a 30.93% decline from a year ago and accounting for 42.14% of the group’s combined sales in the last month. Among the passenger cars sold in May, 18.42% were contributed by new energy vehicles, down 5.96% year over year.
In the first five months of this year, JAC Group’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 173,242 vehicles, notching down 8.27 compared to that of the previous year, with 37.31% being passenger vehicles (64,630 units). In the Jan.-May period, JAC Group sold a total of 10,724 new energy passenger cars, indicating a 21.75% year-on-year jump.
JAC Group has been actively expanding its business reach overseas. In the past month, the group’s new energy vehicle brand Yiwei held a ceremony at its smart factory to mark the export of the first batch of 300 Yiwei 3 (EV3) vehicles to the UAE. Additionally, the Chinese automaker also inaugurated its Dammam showroom and launch the T8 PRO automatic pickup model in Saudi Arabia.
