​Nissan Motor posts 10.43% YoY dip in Apr. China sales

Beijing (ZXZC)- On May 8, Japanese automaker Nissan Motor announced its performance for April in China. The company’s total sales, including both passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, reached 54,921 units in the world's largest auto market, dipping 10.43% year on year.

In April 2024, sales for Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan, Venucia, and INFINITI brands) totaled 52,018 units, indicating a 9.6% drop from a year ago.

Meanwhile, Nissan’s light commercial vehicle segment in China (Zhengzhou Nissan) achieved sales of 2,903 units in the past month, representing a 22.96% decrease year-over-year.

In the first four months of this year, the cumulative sales for Nissan in China, encompassing both passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, amounted to 222,212 units, which slightly dipped 0.48% from that of the previous year.

Mr. Shohei Yamazaki, Senior Vice President of Nissan Motor Corporation and Chairman of Nissan's China Management Committee, as well as President of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, stated, "The Chinese market remains challenging in the first four months of 2024. At the recently concluded Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Nissan announced plans to renew 73% of its Nissan-branded products in the Chinese market by fiscal year 2026. The company will also introduce 8 new energy vehicle (NEV) models, among which 5 will be under the Nissan brand.”
