Changan Automobile sees 5.73% YoY rise in March auto sales

Beijing (ZXZC)- In March 2024, Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) saw a 5.73% year-on-year rise in monthly sales, which amounted to 259,042 vehicles in total.

Among the vehicles sold last month, 52,999 units were new energy vehicles under Changan Automobile’s wholly-owned brands, zooming up 47.49% from a year ago. DEEPAL, the company’s new energy vehicle brand, delivered 13,048 vehicles in the past month. Meanwhile, AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly supported by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, delivered 5,016 vehicles. Changan NEVO, the automaker’s other new energy vehicle brand achieved deliveries of 15,228 vehicles in March.

Cumulative sales of the automaker’s wholly-owned brands summed up to 588,830 units, up 13.57% over the previous year. Among which, 108,951 vehicles were sold in overseas markets, soaring 80.1% from a year ago. 

In addition, Changan Automobile’s joint ventures, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda, witnessed a respective 38.83% and 1.98% year-on-year increase in March sales, which came in at 21,475 units and 6,132 units. In the Jan.-Mar. period, the two joint ventures sold 55,603 vehicles (+24.09% YoY) and 19,296 vehicles (+38.82% YoY), respectively.
